In October 2022, we were two teachers who wanted to obtain the CLIL Certification. This certification gives ability to teach Life and Earth Sciences  for one, History and Geography for the other using English Language. For that, we had three weeks intensive courses in Malta in the aim of improve our English level of speaking. The Maltalingua English School teachers were friendly and involved in school activities. In first it wasn’t easy to express, but we made rapid progress. It was thanks to the teachers but also to the other students who were comming from all over the world, except the English speaking countries of course. Malta island is very open to the foreign residents but Maltese people are really attached to their traditions. So, it was also a great cultural discover. For example there was the candles night festival in an old district close to the fortress and capital, Valetta. You can see a religious procession after the nightfall because every district has their own saint. With the only objective to learn, we noticed that it was a real pleasure to become students. It wasn’t stress less because we needed to progress to communicate with every one and to prepare the Certification that we finally obtained a few months later. That’s all folks! Yves Le Mouroux
